Conservatives will not debate with BNP
Jonathan Evans MEP, Leader of the Conservatives
in the European Parliament has today confirmed that Conservative
candidates will not be sharing platforms with representatives of
candidates from the British National Party in the forthcoming European
election campaign.
Mr Evans said: "Conservatives reject the
BNP and all it stands for."
"As Michael Howard said in his speech in
Burnley last month, 'the policies of the British National Party
are based on bigotry and hatred. Its approach is entirely alien
to our political traditions'.
"They are not a political movement. They
are a bunch of thugs dressed up as a political party."
