Conservative European Team announced
The Conservative Party in the European
Parliament has unveiled the team that will fight for British interests
in Brussels and Strasbourg.
Commenting, Jonathan Evans MEP, Leader of the
Conservatives in the European Parliament, said:"Conservatives
are the largest UK delegation of MEPs in the Parliament, and we
have a strong team in place ready to fight for Britain's interests,
to expose fraud and waste, and a team that will put Britain first
in Europe."
Conservative MEPs have secured a number of major
positions in the parliament this week. Giles Chichester will be
chairman of the Industry, Research and Energy Committee, Geoffrey
Van Orden will be Vice Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee,
Charles Tannock will be Vice Chairman of the Human Rights Committee,
and John Purvis will be Vice Chairman of the Economic Affairs Committee.
